Candle Care
TEALIGHTS Do not trim wicks. Tealights come in a universal clear cup now. Small "feet" on the bottom keep them cool enough to place inside tealight houses and other closed-in candle holders. FLOATERS Do not trim wicks. May lean while burning, but will continue to burn. Burn time depends on water and air temperature.
VOTIVES Always remove metal clip from previous votive before placing a new votive in holder. Keep wick centered (after each snuffing center wick using a toothpick). Votives liquefy as they burn so be sure and burn votives in a contained holder made for votives. DINNER
CANDLES PILLAR
CANDLES First Lighting for bell tops: Burn for 5-10 minutes. For the next 4-5 lightings gradually increase burning times until the bell top is gone. Once candle has a flat surface, burn a minimum of 1 hour per inch for each inch of the candle's diameter. Pillars should always have flat surface, not a "deep well." Gently "hug" the soft wax around the well to maintain a flat surface. 3
WICK CANDLES Keep away from drafts. Don't burn candles less than 2" apart from one another their own. GLASS JAR CANDLES Trim wick to 1/4" each time you light it. Keep wick centered to promote even burning. Always burn the candle long enough for the wax to liquefy to the edges of the container. To avoid damage or possible injury, extinguish the candle when it has burned to within 1/2" of the container bottom. |
