Candle Care

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended!

  • Keep candles out of reach from children and pets.

  • Do not move or touch a candle when hot.

  • "Snuffing" candles prevents wax from spraying and keeps the wick in the center.

  • Keep wicks free of carbon build-up.  If you have carbon build up on the wick, snuff the candle, snip the carbon and remove, then re-light the candle.

  • Always burn candles in the proper receptacles.

  • Refrigerating candles makes them burn more slowly (wrap candles carefully in aluminum foil or plastic wrap to prevent cracking). Do not freeze!

  • To shine candles and remove scratches and dust - rub gently with nylon stockings.

  • To avoid fading, do not place in direct sunlight.

  • Store candles in a cool, dark and dry place.

TEALIGHTS
Do not trim wicks.
Tealights come in a universal clear cup now.  Small "feet" on the bottom keep them cool enough to place inside tealight houses and other closed-in candle holders.
FLOATERS
Do not trim wicks.
May lean while burning, but will continue to burn.
Burn time depends on water and air temperature.

VOTIVES
Trim wicks to 1/4" for proper burning.
Sold by the dozen with the option to choose 2 different scents within that dozen.
Always remove metal clip from previous votive before placing a new votive in holder.
Keep wick centered (after each snuffing center wick using a toothpick).
Votives liquefy as they burn so be sure and burn votives in a contained holder made for votives.

DINNER CANDLES
Trim wicks to 1/4" for proper burning.
Keep out of drafts to prevent dripping.

PILLAR CANDLES
Trim wicks to 1/4" for proper burning, except the 4x9's. 
First Lighting for bell tops: Burn for 5-10 minutes.
For the next 4-5 lightings gradually increase burning times until the bell top is gone.
Once candle has a flat surface, burn a minimum of 1 hour per inch for each inch of the candle's diameter. Pillars should always have flat surface, not a "deep well."
Gently "hug" the soft wax around the well to maintain a flat surface. 

3 WICK CANDLES
NEVER trim the wicks.
Burn a minimum of 6 hours at each lighting.
Keep wicks pointed towards the center.  (I find they burn better this way)

SQUARE PILLARS
Trim wick to 1/4" each time you light it.
Burn for a minimum of 3 hours each time.
DO NOT 'hug' this candle. Let the corner peaks form on their own. This adds to the unique look of this candle!
Keep away from drafts.
Don't burn candles less than 2" apart from one another their own.

GLASS JAR CANDLES
 Trim wick to 1/4" each time you light it.
Keep wick centered to promote even burning.
Always burn the candle long enough for the wax to liquefy to the edges of the container.
To avoid damage or possible injury, extinguish the candle when it has burned to within 1/2" of the container bottom.
